I’m a positive person, so I’ve been looking for the good within this quarantine time and have noticed on Pinterest the popular trends seem to be what I’ve been doing all my life! Cooking at home, daily. Cleaning my home routinely. Gardening to feed my family. Baking instead of buying. And using natural products for aliments and keeping the home safe. Funny, how people are reverting to the Depression Era way of life. Maybe I’m just old school?
I’m excited over all the people who are learning to cook for the first time, or even being forced to cook three meals a day are finding enjoyment in it. The garden centers are extra busy, seed stores are sold out and many are gardening with fear of not being able to buy groceries is the virus gets worse. Making homemade Lysol, cleaning products with vinegar, peroxide or alcohol are keeping the store shelves bare! I had a hard time finding seed potatoes to plant, everyone was sold out! I’m sad that it took a pandemic to force so many into taking better care of themselves, their family and home. I hope we all learn something from this time at home that we won’t soon forget, we must tend to our homes, our shelter. We must learn more survival skills, plant more food, save more money, revisit chores that were put off, and take better! Think of this time as a drill, so we may be better prepared for next time.
