Blogging has changed so much over the years, when I first began in 2005 with my Country Pleasures blog it all seemed so easy, fun and satisfying knowing I connected with so many other’s just like me. Here I am 15 years later at it once again, after many attempts to find my spot in this dot com world, my need to share is still active but so much harder.
I’ve done all the hard parts, buying a domain, setting up Word Press and designing my theme ( still not happy with it so it may change) linking all my accounts but there is still more to do, more to learn. Owning your website is part time job, one you have to take serious or you’ll get tossed aside in this world wide web. Recently I’ve learned you should brand your site and yourself to get ahead of the game. Learning new tasks online at my age, (60) can get hairy at times, but I’m not giving up and nor should you. Start with a logo, and a free one for now. There are many free sites that will allow you to play and make your logo for your website. I made mine above with Free Logo Services (http://www.freelogoservices.com) but it may change? You want a brand that is easy to remember and appealing, but it really needs to describe your website perfectly, or close to it.
The Poor Farm Lady isn’t quite branded but you get a idea of why and what is to come. If you have any tips or links to share, I’d love to hear from you!
